Kevin has been drinking the Kool-Aid since 2008.
He received his CrossFit Level 1 in 2010 and Level 2 in 2015. Kevin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Central College; a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha; and a doctoral degree in Biomechanics from Kansas University. Prior to becoming the operator of CrossFit 424, Kevin was a college professor for 12 years. Kevin competed in college athletics, completed a number of road races including two marathons, one ultra marathon, and a body building competition.
He has a passion for understanding and teaching the mechanics of movement to all ages and abilities. Kevin and his wife Kelly live in Pella with their two children.

Klint began CrossFit in 2012 and earned his CrossFit Level 1 in 2014.
He earned an Associate of Arts degree from Des Moines Area Community College in architectural drafting and puts that education to work in his current role at Lampert Lumber in Pella. In addition to CrossFit, Klint has completed a number of half marathons and continues to participate in various road races.
He desires to complete a handful of CrossFit specialty courses to move his fitness forward and to positively impact his athletes.
Mitch started his CrossFit journey in 2014 and earned his CrossFit Level 1 the same year.
Being a former collegiate track and field athlete Mitch certainly enjoys the competitive aspect that CrossFit provides. He brings this spirit to his coaching and participation in area fitness competitions. The Olympic lifts are what you can find Mitch working on the most. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Central College. He brings that knowledge to his CrossFit classes and while he works with area high school track athletes.
While Mitch derives much joy from training and being a part of CrossFit 424 he still finds time to hunt, train his dog and earn a living.
Laura began to CrossFit in 2013 and earned her CrossFit Level 1 in 2014.
She is a Certified Athletic Trainer from the National Athletic Trainers Association and has been practicing since 2008. In this capacity, she works with Oskaloosa high school. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from St. Francis University and a Master’s degree from St. Louis University. She brings that knowledge to her CrossFit classes and when she counsels our athletes on injury and prevention.
Laura works primarily with our mid-day adult classes and assists with our Kid’s program. She lives in Oskaloosa with her husband, Clayton and their daughter, Grace.
Doug began CrossFit in 2011 and earned his Level 1 in 2014.
His primary coaching service for 424 is with our 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. classes. Every once in a while we can convince him to lead the 5:15 a.m. group! He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training and Wellness from Simpson College where he also played rugby. Doug worked as a personal trainer at Aspen Athletic Clubs from 2001–2005. Since 2005 he has served as a nuclear medicine technologist at Pella Regional Health Center.
Besides CrossFit, his other athletic pursuits are running and he completed his first marathon in 2009.

Geremy started his CrossFit journey in 2013 and earned his CrossFit Level 1 in 2014.
Being a former collegiate football athlete Geremy brings tremendous energy and commitment to his athletes at 424. He excels at barbell movements and gives excellent effort towards refining his gymnastics and metabolic conditioning. Geremy hails from the great state of Texas and he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.
In addition to coaching at 424, Geremy works with football players on their fitness and football skill. He lives in Pella and works at Pella Corporation.
